history, the structure has been called other names such as "Cathedral of the
Intercession" and "Cathedral of St. Basil the Blessed"

St. Basil's is
comprised of nine churches, each laying on a single foundation. The
churches are placed symmetrically around a center pillar, that reaches over
64 meters high

Legend has it
that Barma and Posnik, the architects responsible for St. Basil's, were
blinded by Ivan IV (The Terrible) after they completed the structure because
he did not want them to create anything as beautiful as St. Basil's for
anyone else
